frequently asked questions
general
what does issimo mean?
ISSIMO is an Itlaian superlative suffix, an intensifier, added to a word to magnify its meaning. Take a word like ‘bello’ which means beautiful, and add ISSIMO, you get bellissimo, or exceedingly beautiful.
what is a story agency?
It’s a term we made up because we didn’t cleanly fit into the typical boxes. We are part marketing consultants, part ad agency, part film/video/animation production company – with a dash of catalysts for change. The unifying thing is our focus on story – what is the right story to capture the hearts and minds of the right people to drive the right action.
what is your range of services?
We consult on crystalizing your brand story into a compelling narrative.
We then help you visualize that story. A majority of our work is film, video, and animation because we believe it is most powerful medium for storytelling because it can evoke emotion and inspire action. We also provide photography, design, and copywriting services.
We then optimize your story’s distribution across paid, earned, or owned media to ensure it gets in front of the right audience to inspire the right action.
time / cost
how much does it cost?
It’s like asking, “how much does a car cost?” It depends. Do you need to go from 0–100 km/h in under 3 seconds? You need a Ferrari (and $250,000). If instead, you need car for your teenager to drive to school, you can get something for a lot less.
In determining the cost of a video or storytelling campaign, it’s critical we understand what is the job to be done – or what are you hiring the video to do?
If you need millions of people to join your cause, it might take a six figure investment. If you need a more compelling investor pitch deck, you might spend several thousand. All depends on what you want to accomplish and how hard it is to get there.
To give you a ballpark, our projects tend to be in the five to six figure range. Our average project is between $20-40k.
how long does it take?
On average, our projects take about 8 weeks. There are a lot of factors that can expand or contract that timetable: your internal approval process, travel, talent availability, etc. Some project have spanned multiple years becasue of the subject matter. Some take a few days.
which cost more - live action or animation?
There’s not a single, simple answer. Depends on the type of animation or live action production. A simple testimonial is cheaper than an animated explainer which is cheaper than a basic shoot with actors which might be cheaper than a 3d animation…and on and on.
Usually when we get that question, a better thing to ask is what is the most effective way to tell this story to produce the desired outcome?
Animation is powerful for making complex processes simple or turning the invisible visible.
If you need authentic, human stories brought to life, live action is an effective approach.
Instead of asking which is cheaper, consider asking what is the right tool for the job.
